Drake is a certified Ella’s Fella. The rapper was spotted singing and dancing along to Ella Langley’s record-breaking hit, “Choosin’ Texas,” at her Arkansas show.
In a clip from the concert that circulated on social, Drake enthusiastically sings along as he mimes out the lyrics, “Judging by the smile that’s written on his face / There’s nothing I can do.”
The video was taken at the second night of Langley’s Dandelion Tour, which is in support of her sophomore album of the same name.
Langley kicked off the trek in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Aug. 20, and hosted her Little Rock, Arkansas, show two nights later.
The tour will take Langley across the U.S. over the next several months. She’ll play shows in cities including Auburn, Columbus, and Los Angeles. The trek will end with a Halloween night show in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Ella Langley Has Some Famous Fans
Drake isn’t the only celeb who considers themself a fan of Langley. Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon covered Langley’s song, “Be Her.” Later, Theo Von performed with the singer at Stagecoach. Elsewhere, former NFL coach Rex Ryan gushed over Langley after seeing her concert. Additionally, Mick Fleetwood expressed his support of her on social media.
Most recently, Matthew McConaughey made headlines for his viral cover of “Choosin’ Texas.” The performance came during McConaughey’s appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Langley was a fan of the actor’s version of her song. So much so, in fact, that, before she took the stage in Fort Worth, Texas, she played a video of McConaughey’s performance on the venue’s screens.
It’s not just celebs that have come to love “Choosin’ Texas.” The song has become a bonafide chart hit, nabbing 18 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100.
Langley is now one week away from tying Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Lil Nas X feat. Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road” for the longest No. 1 stretch among non-holiday songs in chart history with 19 weeks.
Taking holiday songs into account, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” still holds command of the all-time No. 1 record with 22 weeks.
